Samsung first teased its foldable phone back in November, and at the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event today, it’s further detailing its foldable plans. Samsung’s foldable now has a name, the Samsung Galaxy Fold. There will be both an LTE and 5G version of the Galaxy Fold, and Samsung is even planning on launching the device in Europe on May 3rd, starting at 2,000 euros.
SAMSUNG GALAXY FOLD LEAKED SPECIFICATIONS?
Samsung is using a new 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display that allows the phone itself to have a tablet-sized screen that can be folded to fit into a pocket. The main display is QXGA+ resolution (4.2:3), and when it’s folded, a smaller 4.6-inch HD+ (12:9) display is used for the phone mode. Samsung is using 512GB of Universal Flash Storage 3.0 (eUFS) for fast speeds, alongside a Qualcomm 7nm octa-core processor and 12GB of RAM.

Samsung has even built two batteries for its Galaxy Fold, that are separated by the fold but combined in the Android operating system to represent a total of 4,380 mAh. The Galaxy Fold runs Android 9 Pie, the latest software from Google, but Samsung has developed a unique interface over the top to work especially with the screens.
Samsung has overhauled its mobile OS earlier than the announcement of its collapsible Galaxy Fold. Gone is TouchWiz – the android skin designed by Samsung and used on its smartphone vary since June 2010 – replaced instead with One UI.
"The time Flex show in conjunction with One UI delivers a replacement quite mobile expertise permitting users to try and do things they couldn’t do with a normal smartphone," Samsung said. "Users currently have the simplest of each worlds: a compact smartphone that unfolds to reveal a bigger immersive show for multitasking and viewing content. The app expertise seamlessly transitions from the smaller show to the larger show because the device unfolds."
One UI will modify the Samsung Galaxy Fold to run 3 apps at the same time once in pill mode, whereas the redesigned icons mean that "the rounded corner of our hardware is mirrored in our computer code," per Jee Won Lee, Senior styleer of ux Design at Samsung Mobile.
