Redmi Go sports a respectable build, especially at this price point. Curved backplate is made out of plastic. The frame is also made out of plastic. But, the type of plastic they used feels good in the hands. Most likely, it is durable enough to withstand few light drops.
Xiaomi’s first smartphone to run on Android Oreo (Go Edition) has made it to India. The Redmi Go is made for people who want to transition from using a feature phone to a smartphone. In front, it is one of the few left with a flat screen. Yes, a flat screen, not a 2.5D curved panel. It is fine though, this handset is a budget phone, not a mid-ranger. At least, the screen is glass, not plastic.Considering that this is a budget-focussed handset running a no-frills version of Android, there obviously aren'y any gaming-related features like a gaming mode to increase performance or battery life. Regardless of what we played, be it Free Fire, Asphalt 8 or Arena of Valor, we lost about eight percent of battery for 20 minutes of gameplay on the Redmi Go over Wi-Fi, which isn't too bad.

During our use, the phone felt snappier and smooth which performing general actions. The stock Android loaded onto the phone does make things easier as it is specially optimized for budget phones. In addition, the Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) supports Google’s Go suite of apps which are light on the storage and are equally well optimized to perform smoothly. The phone comes pre-loaded with a couple of these apps.
